Here are some of my thoughts
I love just about everything about nature. It's is pure and honest. A fresh breeze renews my spirit, a soaring bird leads my imagination to higher levels, and the journey of a fleeting butterfly reminds me of ever changing lives.
When we were first created, our lives were to be lived pure and honest, in perfect communion with our Maker, our Heavenly Father. Now, after centuries of evolving societies, we find that humanity is no longer pure and honest, but filled with greed and deceit.
I wonder if that is why scripture teaches us to look to the wonders of nature to better understand how to live a Godly life. Consider the ant teaches us to always work towards a goal, not letting difficulties to get in the way. We learn to wait by watching the eagle soar on harsh winds, we grasp an understanding of salvation as we see the caterpillar emerge a beautiful butterfly. As we consider the lily, we learn to trust God for our needs, in times of trouble we run to the Rock of our Salvation, and as we consider the stars we see the awesome greatness of a creative God.
When I walk in the woods, explore the mountains, or drive in the country, I take my camera with me to capture some the beauty I find. It may be a reflection in a lake, a flower in bloom, or the sun bursting through storm clouds. I experience the breath of life in trees as they sway in the winds, purity in the waterfalls as they cascade over stones, and hope in animals as they search for food. Scripture teaches us that nature declares the glory of God. There IS a Higher Power, a Creator who cares about even the little details in our lives. It is too awesome for mere words, only praise will suffice.
